This post is your space to pitch player-run plots that may have wider-scale effects— plots that other characters can join, that shape the environment, lore, or dynamics of the world. If your idea involves other characters, creates setting-wide consequences, or introduces new concepts you'd like mod input or approval on— this is the place for it. Please include in your pitch your general idea, who is/could be involved in the plot and the timeframe it should likely take place during.
You're also welcome to use this post to workshop ideas with other players, interest check before kicking off, collaborate, etc!
General Idea: KICKS OUT LEGGIE REAL FAR .. this is a very stupid idea but
So the gist here is that Greed is looking for Tokens that may be able to use their new abilities to do a little alchemy. He'd be willing to teach them (via the Murmur or making a Tether, and probably having to spill some of his secrets in the process). And why would he do that, you may be asking? That's simple!
He's looking to be a find away to be an absolute pain in the ass towards Sleep.
Being a homunculus, he could never do alchemy himself, but he's watched alchemists do it for years. And he was around during the end of the series, so he's got the bright idea of trying to teach someone the basics of alkahestry (basically the opposite form of alchemy that purifies and heals) to see if the powers here can do something similar, given the right materials. He would probably try to test it out on a small area first to see if they can purify something (a puddle of water, some questionable piece of food) before moving onto a bigger area (say around his bar).
The idea is that if they can purify an area and make it harder for Sleep to influence it, that's a win in his book. I don't expect it to be completely fixed, but I was thinking that the transmutation circle could act as something that might deter Hosts or slightly fix some of the damage (water's a bit cleaner, maybe an energy-like barrier that frazzles Hosts if they get too close).
OF COURSE this is asking a whole lot, so if this won't work? No worries at all!
Who would be involved? Greed and any Token willing to bounce with the devil and make terrible choices.
Timeframe it will likely take place during: I'm thinking late March or early April (I am forever drowning in taxes, LET ME BE FREE...)
The Cost: If this somehow does work and Greed decides to use his bar, I think having the cost be on him is only fair. The stronger the barrier, the more he's going to feel it personally. I'm a sucker for symbolism, so having his overheating turn on him might be fun to play with, especially if he has to keep that barrier up using his own blood, or something similar.
Basically, your boy is gunna need an ice bath whenever things end up going to complete to hell and/or someone who he can willingly (or unwillingly, given permission) possess while he recuperates.
Like I said, I KNOW this is a lot, so totally fine if none of this works! This is just a wild idea, so thank you for even taking the time to read this jam!
this actually sounds really, really neat! congrats! offering blood is an excellent conduit for a token's magic, so using greed's blood is actually going to offer a better kick into making successful barriers/"safe" zones in comparison to a token using their own blood.
on to the token types— to make this a bit more challenging and needing some trial and error/reaching out to people (but without leaving anyone out), all token types could be capable of performing something similar to alkahestry, just in different ways and affecting different things. to make it well-rounded, different tokens will be needed for different assignments. for example, both aquamancers and pyromancers have a purifying ability; aquas are much more passive and peaceful, while pyros are active and aggressive, sometimes painful ( since they must burn away the corruption, so to speak, as opposed to washing it away ). Beastkin will have an easier time attempting to safeguard plantlife, while necromancers could purify the soul, bloodwrights could purify blood, lightweavers could make light shields, shadowbinders could filter the darkness, illusionist could purify the senses, geomancers the earth, and so on. I think that can give you guys an idea of what to work with, but if anyone has a question about what their token type can do, I'll be here to assist! (I'm also open to more ideas, counting that it fits the token type!)
The only nuetral token types that will not have a set type but could be capable of all elements, just at a weaker state, are artificers and runecasters. but to compensate, they will be able to pick up alkahestry a lot quicker than anyone else.
WORD AND this sounds sick as hell. He'll probably be teaching a mix of alchemy and alkahestry through trial and plenty, plenty of error (listen he's sometimes a bit stupid).
Would it be easier on you if I made an OOC post about it, letting people know and giving them a chance to ask questions and/or shoot some comments if they need to? I figure I'll give an outline of sorts and a rough time frame, and I'll try to answer what I can from my end. It might be closer to mid-April considering, well. JAZZHANDS taxes.
If that works for you, I'll get something written up ASAP! If you want a looksee before hand, just let me know. AND THANK YOU AGAIN

here we go, about to make terrible choices
